Course Description
This course is designed to meet NRC requirements for training portable nuclear gauge operators as outlined in NUREG-1556, Vol. 1, Rev. 1 Consolidated Guidance About Materials Licenses, Program-Specific Guidance About Portable Gauges. Individual states may have additional requirements. It is the responsibility of the licensee RSO to provide supplemental training to gauge users, if necessary, to ensure compliance with state regulations, radioactive material license requirements, and company-specific operating and emergency procedures. This course is also designed to meet the training requirements of USDOT Hazardous Material Regulations (49 CFR 172 Subpart H) and International Air Transport Association (IATA) Dangerous Goods Regulations for transport of nuclear gauges. This course is presently accepted in the following states and US territories (additional states will be added): AL, AK, AR, AZ, CO, CT, DE, DC, GA, HI, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NV, OH, OK, OR, PA, PR, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT*, VA, VT, VI, WI, WV, WY * With license amendment to allow RSO or other qualified person to conduct practical skills training Please use your own e-mail address when you register for a course.
